BLACK AND WHITE - New York (February 2016)

This work responds to the poem 'tissue' by New Zealand based text-artist and writer Kelly Malone, written in morse code and performed in ayurvedic yogic breath.

'I cry most days viscose lines of streaming tissue'

From the original poem 
‘Every day I cry viscous tears of streaming lines’

An assemblage of found materials and muka weaving made while studying mixed media under Bruce Dorfman at the Art Students League of New York.  

Dimensions: 190 (W) x 325 (H) x 25 (D) mm
Materials:  Muka (New Zealand Flax) Fibre, reflective thread, 
polyurethyne coated thread, wood, driftwood, balsa wood, 
wire and acrylic paint.
