Shimmer - Weaving Light to Dark
The influences of studying under Mixed Media instructors Bruce Dorfman and Mariano del Rossario at the Art Students League of New York in 2016 can be seen in these new works, where harakeke fibres are combined with gold leaf, repurposed mink and other found items.

Returning to the Hokianga in late 2016 and weaving on marae in the Hokianga and Waiheke inspired the series of delicate muka works which use natural hues and colours from each location to create tauira/samplers that represent diversity and connection to people and place.

The installations and sculptural objects, like those of her mentor Maureen Lander, combines traditional Maori crafts with Western sculptural or installation practices.  The common thread running through the show is the choice of harakeke as a medium and the fine crafting used within the work.
